I'll try this again. I posted it yesterday, but it never showed up

I received this in the mail along with a request to re-post it

to the list. I have removed the author's email address, and the

byline name is as originally received.

I reformatted it to 72 characters per line and ran my spell-checker

on it.

Its really not necessary to send stories to me to proof read.

Just post them.

***************************** STORY ***********************************

Spells 'R Us: Cheaters Sometimes Win

by Troy

Travis Wilkins was worried. If he didn't ace his final exam in

calculus he couldn't get a scholarship to the college he wanted to go

to. It meant more than anything to go there. He was getting very

desperate. He decided to get his mind off the test by going to the

mall.

He wandered around aimlessly until he saw a small shop at the

end of the mall. Curious, he walked through the door. Upon entering,

Travis saw many interesting items in the shop. He picked up an ebony

colored ring and examined it. Fighting the temptation to put it on,

he looked around for some help. "Ah!" said an old man wearing what

looked like a bathrobe. "What can I do for you, Travis?" "How did

you know my name?" "I'm a wizard, dear boy," chuckled the old man "I

know lots of things. "You want to ace your calculus test so you can

get a scholarship." "Um, yeah" stuttered Travis. "Here," said the

wizard handing him a pill. "Take this right after you take your test

and talk to your teacher. He will definitely give you an A." The

wizard smiled.

Nervously, Travis entered class and took his exam. It was

tougher than he thought and he was positive he would not get an A.

After the test ended, Mr. Collins picked up the tests and told the

class he would have them graded for tomorrow. Travis gulped. He was

dead. He then grabbed the pill and swallowed. He felt a pushing on

his head and a tugging on his chest. He felt something quickly falling

down his back. In a few moments, it was done.

"Mr. Collins," said Trixie nervously, "can I talk to you for a moment."

A short time later, the cute brunette and her love-starved teacher had

found their way to his car. Needless to say Trixie passed her test and

got a full scholarship to college. In his shop, the old wizard smiled.

He then turned around to wait on his next customer.
