The Doric was launched on August 8, 1922 and completed on May 29 1923. She made her maiden voyage on June 8, 1923 from Liverpool to Montreal via Quebec. In 1933 she was used for cruising only -- from Liverpool. In 1934 the Cunard Line and White Star Line merged to form Cunard White Star Line. On September 5, 1935 the Doric collided with the French steamer Formigny in fog off Cape Finisterre. The Doric was badly damaged but was able to reach Vigo under her own steam. After temporary repairs she sailed to London. She was sold, after inspection, to J. Cashmore to be broken up and left for Newport, Mon, on October 7, 1935.
