Black Jacks Camp

Camp Type: Trail

Region: North

Elevation: 8080 ft.

Water: Unpurified

Campsites: 2

Located only 1/4 mile west of the camp is the old Black Horse Stamp Mill that was operated by "Baron" Phillip Van Zuylen. The mill, which ran from 1899-1907, is just off the Ute Creek and about an hour away from the site of the Black Horse Mine. A cable starting at the mill leads uphill and west to the mine. There is a cabin located near the mine that is still in good condition.
