The sandy gravel ridge that climbs from the first stream after Oturere Hut on the Tongariro Northern Circuit. My pack lies against the clump of tussock holding the pole indicating the track's path. This is typical of the wind-shaped terrain covered on the way to Waihohonu Hut.
