We were organized in 1988 to fulfill a need for wilderness response in the rugged hills of northwest Arkansas. We are trained and equipped to respond to anything from a lost child to a downed aircraft.
We are staffed by an average of 25 Professional volunteers ranging from paramedics and cops to machinists and moms.
In 1994 Benton County SAR received a national award from NASAR for achievement in SEARCH and RESCUE.
Our primary response disciplines are: Wilderness Search and Rescue; High Angle Rope Rescue; Cave Search and Rescue; Swiftwater Rescue; and Related Medical Functions. We have nationally certified instructors in each area.
