Siargao Islands Protected Landscapes and Seascapes
These islands, located off the northwest coast of Mindanao,
are made up of Siargao Island, Bucas Grande Island and numerous islets.
The area is best known to surfing enthusiasts who come for the breakers
along the Pacific coast. Its pristine natural landscapes have placed 278,914
ha of the area on the CPPAP program and UN
Protected Area List.
Siargao Island can be reached by ferry from Surigao the
capital of Surigao del Norte province.
