Archer's Archery

Archer's Archery

In Olympic Competition did you know...

...that archers pull over 7.8 tons in an average competition?
...the average draw weight of a man's bow is 50 pounds.
In an average tournament, the bow is drawn over 300 times thus more than 15,000 pounds (7.8 tons).
Women pull about 5.3 tons with their 35 pound bows.

For a perspective, the strongest weightlifter only lift
1.5 tons in competition and hold only until under control.
And the Archer must hold to bow firm
with 100% focus on the target
and release the arrow without movement
with 100% accuracy versus a foot race
to physically beat a clock ...

...that arrows in Olympic events
travel in excess of 200 miles per hour ...

...that the bullseye of the target
is 4.8 inches in diameter at just under 80 yards ...

Imagine standing on the 20-yard line of a football field
and hitting an apple under the opposite goal post !
and an apple at that distance
looks smaller than a period of this page.......

...that an Archer's Bow is the most widely used of all weapons
in recorded history, allowing prehistoric humans to become
the most efficient protectors and hunters on earth?
