The new 98 Dual Sports series from GT is for the "Free ride" type of riders. With a new aluminum front triangle design, equipped with a Judy XL triple clamp fork, kore shorty stem and riser bars, this bike is ready to rock out of the box! Pictured here are the LTS 1000 DS frame, and the LTS 2000 DS. Currently BW have the LTS 2000 (non DS version) in stock, the only difference from the DS is that the 2000 is equipped with a Marzocchi Bomber Z1, and a flat bar.
Like the LTS 2000 DS, the STS 1000 DS is also made for the free- riding group. The STS main frame is redesigned for 98. And it is equipped with Judy XL triple clamp fork, riser bars and front disk break. Call it trick! The STS 1000 DS is also available as frame only as well.
Looking for that super fork to go with your down hill ride? The RST MOZO XXL should be a fork on the top of your list. This double triple clamp fork offers 6 inches of plush travel. Using air/oil as it's suspension medium, the XXL offers endless tuning possibilities.
The San Andreas DHS is the frame set to have if you want a winning gravity set! The DHS offers 6 inches of travel through a Rissi Terminator air/oil shock. Shown here with a RST MOZO XXL.
A brand new product from Sun-Ringle', a down hill chain guide that is similar to the very popular MRP chain guide (also available right now at BW), with the difference that the inner protection plate is bolted to the roller assembly. The Sun-Ringle' chain guide kit comes with the outer plate, the roller assembly and a 50t chain ring.
Price: HK$ 1650
The shock from K2-PROFLEX is certainly what we could all expect from our suspension in the near future. The Smart Shock is avalable now to fit on your proflex. The shock uses a 9v battery to run it 'computer' which controls compression damping, the shock's computer analyze the shock's compression rate and adjust the damping valve accordingly. With a reaction time of 1/1000th of a second, this shock takes suspension to an new era!
For all you down hill boys and girls! This is a chain guide not to be missed! Using Durlin rollers, the T2 gives a smooth, low friction ride, while keeping your chain on your chain ring on those big time down hill rides! Goes perfectly with the XTR DH cranks!
Price: HK$ 1200
Just arrived is the Shimano single ring DH cranks set, it uses the XTR crank arms, with a CNCed chain ring (very much like the AC DH crank set). The special XTR Bottom Bracket is needed since it uses the XTR crank arms. Image is not yet available yet, but the 98 XTR line is coming to us so fast that we are having a hard time keeping track! The 98 XTR rear derailleurs is here, works in the opposite way where the spring tension pulls the derailleur up to the bigger cogs instead of the to the lower cogs, also the derailleur wheels are larger to provide a smoother chain movement. Not to be missed out is the removable pulley wheel that comes with the derailleur, it cuts down on the amount of housing needed, giving a more direct cable route. bla bblphoto from Japanese Magazine Cycles Sports Aug. 97 issue
We actually have this now! Yeah, so much for 98 parts! It's a different approach for shifting with the bar-end shifter, connection is very simple and it's useful for those who stays on the bar end a lot, we have it now, so come check it out!
This
is the 98 STS DH LOBO Down hill bike, it comes with the 98 Boxxer fork,
very much a carbon copy of the 97 Team GT down hill bike. Sweet! Hope we'd
get a few for you Hong Kong DH girls and boys. DH

GT's
top of the line hard tail have done the imposable once again! They made
it even better! Coming with a full XTR set up with a Rock Shox SID that
has a claimed weight of 2.4 pounds! This bike is going to be one light
rig, for the full on XC riders.
GT's
bikes rocked the road bike community with their 'blade' frame design in
97. For 98 it is back again with the Vengeance time trials bike. If this
bike looks fast just standing still, wait till you see it on the move!
The
bike in this picture is the actual 97 TREK team bike, but the production
model for 98 should be very much like this one. Don't know much details
about it yet, but it should be interesting. Information from Beetle's
web-Cog Head
This will be one hot item for 98, the TREK Foil 77 has a OCLV main frame that looks as good as it is fast! You couldn't stop noticing the wheels huh! Well they are the new TREK Rolf wheels, using only 14 spokes, this wheel is light!
