Watershed Management

Conservation Authorities are local environmental agencies based on the watersheds of Ontario. A watershed includes all the land and tributaries which drain into a watercourse. Watershed Management involves an integrated approach to managing the river and the surrounding lands which affect it.

Conservation areas developed by Conservation authorities both protect natural areas and provide opportunities for recreation.

Conservation Ontario is a network of 38 Ontario Conservation Authorities.
