Calypso -
I always admired M. Cousteau's work. Did you know that John Wayne's yacht, the Wild Goose and theCalypso were built together, at approximately the same time, at the same Seattle shipyard as identical wartime minesweepers? Mishap in Singapore shipyard in 1996. Went down in about 16 feet of water where it had been berthed. After she was refloated, the Calypso was returned to the Cousteau Societies headquarters in Monaco to become a museum. (Maybe)

the calypso is in la Rochelle (fr) by the oceanographic museum .you can not visit her and she in verry bad shape.for more information you must contact the museum :musee maritime de LR bassin des chalutier ,ancien encan tel #(01133) 5 46 28 03 00 they may be have on cite on the net i dont know. good luk !!!!!!!!!!!!!
