Top Two Should've-Been-Rejected Doctoral Dissertation Topics

This past Saturday, I attended a friend's Commencement as she

received her MA from the University of Northern Colorado. While

another friend and I waited, we killed the time by reading the

program. The UNC is not one of the more prestigious universities in

the state and a review of some of the doctoral dissertations proves

this point. Here are the two that stand out and were actually

published in the program:

DISSERTATION: A Phenomenological Study: Understanding Female

Doctoral Students' Academic and Social Interactions with their

Dissertation Chairperson During the Dissertation Process.

Translation: She [communed] with her faculty advisor [to get the

grade] and wrote a paper on it.

DISSERTATION: The Relationship Between Physical Attractiveness and

Psychosocial Identity Development, First Semester GPA, and Admissions

Index Scores for Freshmen.

Translation: He dated good-looking freshman women and wrote a paper

on it.
