Christianity In Freefall?

While sitting in a church pew, you'll often hear about new people being saved, new churches being built, as well as the success of their missionaries. But is christianity really growing? The answer is no, 50 years ago about 80% of people in America claimed to be christian. Now only about half  claim to even believe in God. Many people still claim to be "religious", but what religion? Of the people who claim to be religious, what % claim christianity? I started taking a monthly survey to find out:

Of "religious" People, What % claim christianity as their faith?

Dec/99   53.15%
Jan/00   50.79%
Feb/00   49.50%
Mar/00  49.35%
Apr/00   52.05%

The survey is conducted by randomly selecting people who claim "religion" as an interest through ICQ. Hundreds of people are surveyed monthly. This survey is not intended to be statistically accurate, but is meant only to show a general trend. The graph and survey results will be updated monthly. The results will always be one month behind while numbers are tabulated and interpreted.

So what religion(s) are people turning to? Sadly, the fastest growing religions seem to be pagan cults. Paganism, Satanism, New Age, Wicca, and Earth Worship are the fastest growing religions today! especialy among young people. As christianity becomes more and more politically incorrect, you can expect the number of christians to continue to drop.

What does this mean? Christians are described in the Bible as "the salt of the earth" Tracking the number of christians is like taking the pulse of our dying planet. During the tribulation, christians will be mocked, beaten, and even killed for claiming christianity as their faith. These times are fast approching. Pray things get better but be prepared in case they don't. [Kohain]
