Alsley was given to us after
Louise
passed away.
He was a gift from a very dear and special friend. Alsley was very tiny (not quite 4 pounds) when we first met him, he now weighs approximately 21 pounds and is five years old. Could it be that instead of a pug, we have a pot-bellied pig?? Pugs have a tendency to become overweight so we're very careful about what we feed "the little land shark" (so named for his circling around under our chairs when we're eating). He's always the optimist...someone might just drop a morsel on the floor and he wants to be the first to "rescue" it.
Als is a wonderful family member and fits in well with our lifestyle. He's content to sleep during the day while we're at work and school, and when we get home, he's ready to play. He loves to go for walks. However, because pugs are extrememly heat sensitive, our walks take place in the morning before the sun comes up. Now that the weather is beginning to cool off, Alsley will be able to go out on the intracoastal waterway on the back of the kayak. He has his own PFD (pug floatation device) and likes to try and catch the paddle blades as they come out of the water.
We now have Abigail who is three. Alsley knows that life was much better before she came on the scene.

Introducing...Alsley's nemesis...Abigail

It's called a "Pushmepullpug"...a variation of Dr. Doolittle's Pushmepullyou
