Travel tip

Summer months are peak travel times for Alaska. So book as far in advance as possible. I conducted accommodation searches in February/March for our June visit. We decided on the bed and breakfast option. How did we find places to stay? Go to the internet site, bedandbreakfast.com of course! From there, I got in touch with AnneMarie's Bed and Breakfast. We had a delightful time there. So if you are ever in Anchorage, do consider AnneMarie's!

Here we are having a leisurely breakfast Sunday morning, June 23. From left to right, Leonard, my friend from the DC area who also participated in the marathon, Harold, my friend from LA who has driven across the USA twice with me, Ron, my friend from the DC area who also had Alaska on his list of dream destinations, me, Stacy, and Joyce who is the grandaunt of Stacy. The pair was on a one month tour of Alaska to celebrate Stacy's graduation from college. Congratulations, Stacy!

Here is a photo in the front yard of AnneMarie's and AnneMarie is on the right.

We hit the road to drive down to Seward. Here is a view of Turnagain Arm from the roadside just south of Anchorage.
