Background: Probably the only member of the Scooby Gang that is actually non-supernatural, Xander has always been completely loyal to Buffy and the gang. It brought him some heart ache, (Miss French, Amputa, Cordelia, Faith, unrequited love for Buffy); it also brought him his current ex-demon girlfriend, Anya. He survived many trials and tribulations fighting the forces of evil while making some big mistakes (like a love spell). Another life-long Sunnydale resident, Xander often struggles with feelings of uselessness which are compounded by his implied messed-up family life.

Motivation: Xander's relationship with Drusilla has not always been close. She as a vampire was certainly high on his list of bad guys, though he probably would give her points for trying to kill Angel. While Drusilla did confess her love and save him from Angelus once, she was planning on biting him anyway and was under a spell. It is likely that she made herself less popular when she and a team attacked Xander and his friends in the library breaking his arm. Xander also witnessed her helping Angelus try to end the world with Alcatha. She was the indirect cause of Xander being kidnapped by Spike once as well because Spike wanted to use Willow's magic talents and took Xander for leverage.
