It wasn't hard to find her, he had just to find the most likely part of town to find vampires, and there she would be, as he knew she would.
Buffy was making easy of the vampire that she was currently fighting…well you couldn't really call it fighting, *definitely a fledgling* Spike observed. Buffy was more like pummeling him.
"Jeez, they just don't make 'em like they used to," Buffy noted as she drove the stake through the vamps heart.
Spike watched from a near by shadow. He had been following her for over a week now, and still had no idea why she was in LA. Buffy had seemed like she was looking for something, but never gave a clue at to what it was, well as far as Spike could see, being at a safe distance might be good for observing but Spike could never hear what the Slayer said to her victims before they turned to dust, even with Spike's heightened vampire hearing. *I have to get closer to her if I'm gonna find a way to kill her.*
Since that night, Spike had bit by bit become obsessed killing with the Slayer. He had convinced himself that it was the atmosphere that had got to him, and it was *that bloody song* that made her so irresistible, and now she was going to pay for his weakness.
"Slayer," Spike announced as he stepped out from the shadows.
Buffy instantly recognized him as the man who had in a matter of one night, one dance, capture her heart and curiosity. *Gosh, that sounded really corny* Buffy thought. But it was true, this mysterious man hadn't stirred something inside Buffy, that she hadn't felt in a very long time.
"It's you," was all she could say.
Spike raised his scarred eyebrow, "Yeah, it's me."
"Why did you leave that night?" Buffy stated plainly getting straight to the point.
Spike raised his other eyebrow, "Why did you come to LA?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Why do you keep asking me questions?"
"Why do you keep answering my questions with a question of your own?"
"Why…," Spike was out of questions, "I left because I was… I had… somewhere to be." *That was away from you, before I could grab you and…* Spike hadn't finished his thought before a vampire came from behind the couple and tried to hit Buffy unawares. Spike grabbed his raised arm and used it to hit the vamp's own face. Buffy soon realized what was happening and quickly took over for Spike by punching the vamp in the stomach before he could start his counter attack. No sooner as had the fight begun, it was over. Buffy watched as the dust settled and turned to her companion to find that once again he had left her to contemplate what had happened between them.
"Damn! I hate it when he does that."
Two days later Buffy was no closer to finding what she had come to LA for, and was even more confused over what had happened with the stranger after their meeting.
Giles had read the signs, and was convinced there would be a upsurge of vampire activity in LA and had sent Buffy straight away.
"B-buffy I know it's your summer, but I think i-it would be best if you went to LA and cut down the vampire population, o-or at least try to find out if there is a-a powerful master vampire about to rein in the LA vampires and will uh try…something," he had told her.
"Wow Giles, could you vague it up a bit more? "try…something"?? You're big with the insight today huh? Okay, whatever, it'll be a nice holiday from the Hellmouth nasties around here." Buffy told him. "Hmmm, yes," was all the reply Giles had come up with, he had already turned his attention to the demonology book he had been reading.
Buffy had already spent almost 2 weeks in LA and had probably encountered about 5 vamps including the two she had confronted with her mysterious stranger. Not much of an "upsurge" in Buffy's books. She had tried to beat as much info out of the vampires she did come across, and had gotten something out of the one she had been pummeling before her gorgeous stranger had turned up.
Buffy stopped herself her gorgeous stranger??* She had already claimed him as her own, even though she had only met him twice. *But it seems so much more than that. It's like I knew him a former life or something. Okay Summers, you have got to stop with the corny!* Buffy chided herself.
The information the vamp had provided Buffy with before he was carried away on a breeze, was that there was a master vampire in town, but he hadn't given any indication of stirring up any trouble as of yet, and seemed quite content with having his following create the usual amount of havoc as it had always had.
Buffy had decided to go out on the town for a bit of fun instead of hunting that night, she was getting down because of her current situation.
Buffy said a quick bye to her father who she was staying with while in LA, and headed for the door. "Bye darling, have a good time. Try to come in earlier this time dear, I'm not even sure what time you came in last night, I was already in bed," Buffy's dad told her.
"I will. I'm not hunting… forthatperfectpairofshoes tonight. I'll be goin' now, night," Buffy practically ran out the door after her reply *nice save Buffy, stupid stupid!* Buffy admonished herself as she slapped her forehead with her palm. She had gotten so used to talking openly about her slayer activities with her mother, she completely forgot that her father was still clueless.
*Stupid. Stupid* Buffy repeated to herself.
As Buffy got closer to the strip of bars and nightclubs in the middle of LA's hipper area, she found herself walking towards the one she had met her stranger in.
*I'm not going in there to accidentally run into him, noooo, Good Summers, you keep telling yourself that.*
Walking in the club was a shock. Instead of the slow and melodic music that had been playing during *their* first dance, there was a sultry, sensual and an overall feel of sexiness to the place. Buffy recognized the song as Bailimos, a very popular song around at the moment, that was sung by that sexy Iglesias guy. *hormones on parade Buffy! Is that all you can think about??!*
Tonight we dance
I leave my life I'm your hands
We take the floor
Nothing is forbidden anymore
Buffy looked around the club and saw that people were coupling off, gluing themselves to their partners, dancing to the song.
So engrossed in watching the sensual dancers, Buffy didn't notice that someone had grabbed her arm and was leading her out to the dance floor until she was already swept up in her own sensual dancing.
Don't let the world in outside
Don't let a moment go by
Nothing can stop us tonight
Buffy's heart started to jump, thinking it was her stranger, but soon realized it wasn't him, when she looked up into her partner's eyes. They were not the grey blue pools she had memorized in their two meetings, but were a deep brown, though handsome, this dance partner had nothing on the mystery man.
Bailamos...... let the rhythm take you over
Bailamos...... te quiero amor mio
Bailamos..... gonna live this life forever
Bailamos .....te quiero amor mio
Te quiero
Though still dancing, Buffy gazed around the club to find if her stranger had turned up. *I wonder if he still can be classified as a stranger?? I mean it's like I know him already, and we did meet a second time, so he technically isn't a stranger any more. Note to self, stay away from Willow and Xander, you're catching babbling disease!*
Through her muddled thoughts, Buffy had looked up and noticed someone watching her from the corner of the room.
Tonight I'm yours
we can make it happen I'm so sure
Now I'm letting go
There is something I think you should now
Buffy gasped as she stared into the pools of blue grey, seeing some rage, as well as lust in them. But just as she thought she would let go of her current partner to run to her stranger, he grabbed his own partner, a leggy woman who had been goggling him from a nearby table.
I won't be leaving your side
Were gonna dance through the night
I want to reach for the stars
Angry, Buffy locked eyes with her stranger's own angry eyes, while making her moves even more sensual, being fully absorbed by the song, as did her stranger.
Bailamos... let the rhythm take you over
Bailamos..... te quiero amor mio
Bailamos...gonna live this life forever
Bailamos... te quiero amor mio
Te quiero
*What am I angry about? It's not like we married or anything! We don't even know each other's names. Yeah, he can dance with whomever he wants to, sure.*
Tonight we dance
Like no tomorrow
If you will stay with me
Just as Buffy finished her thought, the leggy woman wrapped one of said legs around her partner's legs and Buffy saw her whisper something in his ear.
Te quiero mi amor
quedate conmigo
esta noche bailamos
*Why you little slut!! Get your hand off MY stranger!!*
Bailamos... let the rhythm take you over
Bailamos.... te quiero amor mio
Bailamos...gonna live this night forever
Bailamos ... te quiero amor mio
Disgusted by the display, Buffy let go of her partner and headed for the door, but just before she reached it she turned and yet again locked eyes with the source of her anger.
Como te quiero
Como te quiero
Como te quiero
Como te quiero
Como te quiero
Como te quiero.......
As the song ended, Buffy turned and quickly walked out the door. The last look she had gotten from the stranger had confused her. It was a look of pure lust, but Buffy wasn't sure if it was for his dance partner. Totally confused, she headed for home.
