Passenger ship missing in eastern Indonesia waters
AMBON,Maluku (Antara): A passenger ship with around 20 passengers on board has
been missing in Pulau Tiga isle in eastern Indonesia province of Maluku since
Tuesday.
The KM Wahai Star, which departed from Leksula, was carrying around 20
passengers, but the number could be more as it usually made several stops along
Buru island coastal areas on its way to the province capital city Ambon.
Head of Ambon navigation district Karim Tuanaya said Wednesday that the boat
which was led by Captain Steven Lekatompessi and had 17 crew members, reported
it had problems with engine at around 11:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday. (**)
