Periwinkle Games 2001

A crowd of about 200 people were at hand to witness the staging of the second annual Periwinkle Games at the W&E Gounds in Abu Dhabi. This year's tournament took on a new slant with teams for both football competitions being composed of players from the Fianna and the Dubai Celts, a mixum gatherum that worked quite well...

We also had the first staging of a junior game for a number of years. There was a great turnout and hopefully may have served to generate bit of interest among the younger generation.
