Mary's sleeper
This is a 1984 Celebrity,I have bought that car in a rush, because my wife's '87 fuel injected Celebrity gave-up it's transmission,+ lots of rust problems with the body, fuel & brake lines.

I bought that 250$ rust-free beater because of it's solid body& floors, but the trashed interior was swapped with the mint'87's,and all the new brakes from the '87 went on the '84.

8 months later, the tired 2.8 threw 2 valve springs in pieces all over the engine.

That rough looking gem was worth a fresh engine, everything else is in perfect working order.
At least, the '87 CL Celeb had something good to give;an interior in almost new condition.Seats, carpet, door panels and headliner with fancy map light found their way into a base car. Now,where the floor shifter was on the console lies an other package tray.the shifter-less console looks like it is stock!
looks like your everyday random beater, but appearance can be deceiving! But a fresh coat of paint is on its way for summer 2003
Try to find any rust here!! After been in duty for 19 winters, that baby is still rock-solid.Ride is super smooth, frame connectors help,so does the 1 1/8" front sway bar. A rear sway bar like my Celeb would help too,as 16" wheels from a late Z24 with the 5x100mm small bolt pattern JA1 brake this Celeb is equipped, but money is always a concern...
My pride! That  car came with a low performance X-code 2.8 V6. Now this engine is a Z-code High Output clone. It was rebuilt with Higher compression pistons, big valves TBI heads, and an HO cam. that Celebrity never ran that fast when it was new. The super reliable TH125C automatic transmission does a great job to transfer the power to the ground,it upshifts and downshift when ever the gas pedal gets into action. People who wants to get ahead on a stop light are always fooled!!:)
