Present: Dave Duncan, Harold Fisher, Dave Upton, Lynn Connors, Larry Rodrigues, Dave Deacon, John Curry, Sheila Bower-Jacquard, Carrie Hemmings, Mark Smith, Mike Graves, Scott Bigelow

The Minutes for the August 24th, August 31st, October 9th board meetings were approved.

NEW BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

John Curry queried the status of our insurance. Carrie advised that she was contacting Mike Fields with Hockey Nova Scotia and had faxed a letter to Calwell Roach our insurance brokers to ensure that we have appropriate coverage in place for directors liability insurance.

APPROVAL OF AB COACHES

Dave Ducan reported that A, AA and AAA level coaches must have a trainer's course and for the B and house league teams one trainer's course per bench was required. The trainer's course expires after three years. The trainers and coaching initiation Level 1 courses were being offered October 30th and 31st at Acadia. In order to participate, coaches must be on the list by October 19th, 2004.

Motion by Dave Upton and seconded by Dave Duncan that the coaches listed hereto as Schedule "A" be approved as are coaches for Atom, PeeWee and Midget divisions. Motion passed unanimously.

PLAYER MOVEMENT IN BANTAM AND PEEWEE DIVISIONS

There is lengthy discussion in relation to the issues surrounding the Bantam, Midget and Pee Wee try outs. Motion made by Dave Upton in relation to the Bantam goalies, final placement of the goalies will be determined by the results of the evaluation process. Motion seconded by Carrie. Motion unanimously passed.

In relation to the Midget division, it was noted that there are 8 to 9 players who have designated they wish to play Midget C and 14 to 22 players to be divided between the Midget A and Midget B teams. The Midget AAA is carrying 16 players and the Midget AA is carrying 17 players. It was noted that the Midget A team could carry a maximum of 19 players if necessary. Motion made by Dave Upton that the Midget AAA team will carry 17 players and the Midget AA team will carry 17 players and the Midget A team will carry a maximum of 19 players if numbers warrant it to create one house league team to accommodate the rest of the players in the Midget division. Motion seconded by Sheila Bower Jacquard. Motion passed by 9 - 2 vote. Motion made by John Curry that a Midget child who could not make the evaluations for a legitimate reasons will be evaluated for placement in the Midget division. Motion seconded by Larry Rodrigues and passed unanimously.

Motion made by Mike Graves that the Pee Wee A team and Pee Wee B team will each carry 18 players and the two children called for each team for further evaluation will be told that they will be evaluated for one available position per team. Harold Fisher will follow the evaluation process. The final decision as to who will fill the 18th spot on each team will be made by the coaches of the A and the B teams respectively. Motion seconded by Dave Upton and unanimously approved.

ICE TIME

The ice schedule attached hereto as Schedule "B" was unanimously approved.
