ACUPUNTURE POINTS AND MERIDIANS

Acupunture points are points on the body, which when pricked with needles or stimulated with the blunt probe or similar device can cure certain disease or disorders in the body. vital energy can be influenced by manipulating such points and imbalance in the energy can be restored. These points are electrically low resistent points.Delta fibres and sympathetic fibres emerge upto the skin level and concentrate in that region of low resistence.

The skin itself is now known to be the highly resistent develope of the body. Within wich these electrical energies traverse the path of least resistence.According to chinese interpretation or concept of vital energy permeates each and every living cell and tissue. This includes skin and subcatareous tissues.Circulation of this surface energy follows a determined path. These various pathways form pattern of lines called acupunturemeridians or peripheral circulation.

There are three type of circulations

  1. Superficial Circulation (12 Meridains) or Direct Meridians.
  2. Deep Circulation also known as core circulation Organs connected to each other byfive element theory these are called organ meridians.
  3. Connecting pathways - these connect deep circulation with superficiall circuation and is called intermediate circulation.

Thus the entire meridian system is interconnected and hence called meridian complex,Though which energy flows continuously in close circuit meridians are in two directions.

CENTRIFUGAL - HEART TO PERIPHERY

CENTRIPETAL - PERIPHERY TO HEART

MERIDIAN COMPLEX

REGULAR MERIDIANS

EXTRA MERIDIANS

CONNECTING MERIDIANS

  • Lung Meridian
  • Large Intestine Meridian
  • Stomach Meridian
  • Spleen Meridian
  • Heart Meridian
  • Small Intestine Meridian
  • Urinary Bladder Meridian
  • Kidney Meridian
  • Pericardium Meridian
  • Triple Warmer Meridian
  • Gall Bladder Meridian
  • Liver Meridian

There are eight number of meridians. They are depots of energy whenever there is depletion of energy these depots supply and replenish the deficiency.

  • Du Meridian
  • Ren Meridian
  • Chong Mai (vital channel) - bilateral channel.
  • Yang hell motility channel - Bilateral channel.
  • Yin hell motility channel - bilateral channel.
  • Yang regulating channel - bilateral channel.
  • Yin regulating channel - bilateral channel.
  • There are 15 Luo connections, also called collaterals. In france they are called secondary vessels. They connect one Yin with one Yang meridian.
