All About The Galaxy And, Voyagers Trip Home

This map is showing the four quadrants of the galaxy. The Delta, Gamma, Beta, and Alpha Quadrant.

By looking at the pic, you can see that the Alpha Quadrant is home to the United Federation of Planets, Cardassia, and Bajor. The Klingon Empire is partly in Alpha and Beta, as is the Romulan Star Empire.

Voyager is in the Delta quadrant, and was flung to the far-side of it, 70,000 light years from Federation Space, as Harry Kim said in Caretaker ''...Where at the other side of the galaxy...''

Unfortunatly for Voyager, the Borg also reside in the Delta quadrant, as do many other deadly races. The Vidiians, Numeri, Hirogen, and many other deadly species.

However, in the Delta quadrant, many species are low tech civilisations, making the long trip home, and stopping for supplies, even harder!
