I have been busy stripping the Wizard down; I have bolted up the front beam from Antoine so I could roll the car out of the garage and work on it.
I have ripped all the wiring out and removed the doors and the entire interior. I have had a chip and scrap around where the rain gutters have been bodged over and have found a bit more rust but nothing serious. The aerial hole had been just fillered over and the bottom of the windscreen surround appears to have a layer of filler then fibreglass, then another layer of filler. Some rust has crept under it all so I’ll have to strip it all back to bare metal to sort it out.
I also found some rust at the bottom corner of the front wheel arch where it meets the A pillar I think this will be all cut out when the flip front is put in anyway.
I had to remove the Clifford alarm and immobiliser, I followed the wires to the car loom and cut them there, I want to get it re-fitted to another bug anyone out there who can do it? Mail me: adamwatson@vodafone.net
Mean time here is some pics of a naked front end and a rusty split...

More when I do more
