Things That Interests Me

Like most people, I'm also quite interested in fame and fortune. What makes me different is on how to reach those goals. My way is the Information Technology way. Since I began programming at a relatively early age -- first grade junior high -- I can say that I have a slight advantage in this area.

I always dream that I can be the next Bill Gates to come and found my own Microsoft. But the situation is quite different. Gates came from a well-to-do family in a developed country. He also has a very high IQ and started his own company at a very young age. So it is very possible for the Harvard dropout to build and develop his own empire.

While my family is from the middle (working) class, living in a developing country, and I have a relatively average IQ. So I have to go through the proper channels, fight my way through, and properly acquire the required education for me to survive in the IT world.

In order to gain a reputation, I write software and articles and release them to the public. This serves me another purpose: I can also increase my skills, knowledge and experience.

Together with Minnarto Djojo and Rama Ambara, we're putting together an upstart IT company, Arcle Technologies. We don't have any business yet, but we have plans for it.

Because software nowadays are more and more being taken for granted, Arcle Technologies will focus in creating disposable software -- a kind of tissue paper in computers. That is, we will focus on creating technologies with short development time, and a relatively not-too-long usage time. We will achieve this goal by crafting our products from reusable components, either the ones we developed ourselves or we outsourced.

In the long run, Arcle Technologies look forward to integrating people with machines in the context of information technology; not only at the user interface level, but also at the physical level. In this way, collaboration between people will be increased thus leveraging the society in a new improved way. Perhaps by the integrated minds throughout the world, the space age will come sooner than it would be.

For the near future, we are investigating the applications of intelligent consumer-electronic devices (such as hand phones, PDAs, etc), and how to program them. Also to integrate them using the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).

We have an array of skills: application programming, web programming, web design, databases, etc. If you have a part time job vacancy -- in Jakarta, of course -- please contact us.
