The Education Concert Program:
Rossini, G: Overture to "Il Signor Bruschino"
One of Rossini's great, and not so famous overtures. A great example of music of the Classical Era. The children may be surprised when they see and hear what the violins do with their bows!
Christmas, J: Style Demonstration
Using Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" as the main them, this piece is a Demonstration of musical style from the Renaissance Era to Rock and Roll.
Mendelssohn, F: "Selections from Midsummernight's Dream"
This is incidental music based on Shakespeare's work and will be used to demonstrate storytelling through music.
Fucik J: Entrance of the Gladiators
You may not know it by its title, but this instantly recognizable piece will close the program and will allow students to come up on stage and conduct the orchestra.
