If the World Explodes

I woke up this morning and didn’t like the face I saw
So I went to the corner store to get a new one, but they were out of my favourite kind
So now I'm sitting here, faceless and blind.

Just remember, if the world explodes I'll be by your side,
Watching from the highest hilltop
And I'll breath the oxygen from your lungs to stay alive
While you sing lullabies to the butterflies

I wandered around a square at lunch looking for a boy
Instead I found a bag full of peanuts attached to the hands of a girl, off in her own world
I sat down with her and had my hair curled

And I whispered in her ear:
Just remember, if the world explodes I'll be by your side,
   Watching from the highest hilltop
And I'll breath the oxygen from your lungs to stay alive
While you sing lullabies to the butterflies

She simply smiled and gave me a kiss for my efforts
Then disappeared in a pretty cloud of faerie dust
Pretty little girls are not to be rushed

Just remember, if the world explodes I'll be by your side,
Watching from the highest hilltop
And I'll breath the oxygen from your lungs to stay alive
While you sing lullabies to the butterflies

Just remember, if the world explodes I'll be by your side,
Watching from the highest hilltop
And I'll breath the oxygen from your lungs to stay alive
While you sing lullabies to the butterflies

Just remember, when the world explodes
I will always love you, even if
My heart bursts into a million pieces
