I've spoken with hundreds of parents, as you all know, and have diligently shared my view on the book "Potatoes not Prozac". As many of you also know, I have even sent out free copies of the book bought and paid for with my own money. It is with a sardonic smile that I tell you I was in contact with Dr. Kathleen DeMaisons recently. She informed me she was not at all appreciative or supportive of the references/excerpts to the potatoes and alcohol information on my site. You may remember it as the link entitled "Potatoes, Alcohol and Bipolar Comparisons". She then went on to make it clear she would be willing to back-up her book in "writing" for me if I was a "client" on her website (nevermind my own time constraints) which would then "validate" that I had actually read and utilized her book. She then said she would be interested in how I "resolved" the situation (probably implying lawsuit). This was after I signified that I had a Visa waiting for her $125/ hour consultation, fully expecting to be charged for the requested letter. I still have no idea if the word "client" carries heavy monetary messages as it does with so many doctors. So, here is my resolve in writing; I am resolved to help others free of charge and I will never charge a dime (less S&H), even if I have fancy letters before my name someday. I will never sell my principals for the almighty dollar. I am resolved to share where you can find her book and information but only because I know it validates key nutrional information and works. I am resolved in the idea that not all doctors will harbor such attitude and regardless, good can come of it. Like I shared with Kathleen, it just reaffirms that medical knowlege and help is second to greed (or perhaps degree'd indifference). Oh, and Kathleen? I apologize for giving you more book sales. Perhaps I should start charging a finders fee............ |
