Biofeedback : This procedure utilizes an electoencephalograph to train an individual to alter his/her brainwaves. Two electrodes are attached to the scalp with a paste, (no pain). The electrodes go to an EEG which analyzes the brainwaves and rewards the child for producing the proper brainwave patterns by giving him a score on a computer game that appears on the monitor. The child learns to play the game with his brainwaves. Cost: $2500.00
Feingold Association : This procedure involves 2 steps; the elimination of synthetic colors, flavors; of antioxidant preservatives BHA, BHT and TBHQ (in food); Asprin and medication containing asprin and foods which contain natural salicylates. The second phase is re-introducing the foods eliminated one at a time. It is believed that many childhood behavior problems can be directly linked to the absorbtion and chemical reaction of preservatives in our bodies.
Pfeiffer Treatment Center: This method identifies specific chemical imbalances through extensive chemical testing and provides individualized treatments for balancing body chemistry. Treatment consists of two visits followed by annual consultations. About 100 lab tests are administered and a vitamin profile is extracted from the results.
