Elementary Methods

Lesson Segment # 2

 

Objective: To have student become more familiar with the notes on the Treble Staff.

 

Materials: -Dry Erase Markers

-Note cards with notes drawn on treble clef (w/ accidentals)

 

Prior Knowledge and Experience: -Students have a basic knowledge of the names of lines and spaces of treble clef.

-Students know what accidentals are, and how they function.

 

Procedures: -Review not names for lines and spaced of treble clef

a.       EGBDF- Every good boy does fine/ deserves fudge

b.      FACE- Face

-Review accidentals and what their functions is

-Explain rules of game

-Choose teams

-Flip coin to see which team goes first

 

Indicators of Success: -Students have fun playing the game. Become wui9cker at recognizing note names of the treble clef

Follow-up: - Select one student to run the game

- First team to get 5 correct notes in a row; need to make a song out of those five pitches
