Materials: Canto Sheet music, Instruments

 

Prior Knowledge and Experience: Student have learned, rehearsed and played the beginning sections throughout class periods.

 

Procedure:     -Run through the beginning of piece to review what was already learned.

                        - Sight-read next section of piece

                        - Review new section, rehearsing parts that cause problems

                        - Play from beginning through these parts to include them within the rest of the piece.

                        -Challenge students by taking tempo faster

 

Indicators of Success:           -Students sight-read parts well.

                                                -They connect information from what they learned with the beginning of the piece to new material learned today.

                                                -Continue to play with excitement and strive for excellence.
