Objective: To have students perform song with correct pitch and diction.

 

Materials:  “Bridge over Troubled Water”, Piano

 

Prior knowledge and Experience: Students will be sight-reading this piece. Have talked about use of correct diction and applied to songs in the past.

 

Procedure:     -Separate class into parts, SATB

                        -Speak through terms connecting all words with correct diction and rhythm stopping only to correct big mistakes. M.8-30

                        -Have students sight sing through it, while playing parts on piano

                        -Have students sing two parts at a time SA then TB

                        - Apply all parts together

                        -Single out parts that may cause issues to work on separately.

 

Indicators of Success:           -Students all sing well using correct diction

                                                -Students follow rhythms easily with little mistake

                                                -Show interest in learning following material
