Objective: Have students sing the end portion of the song with confidence and accuracy of notes, pitch and rhythm.

 

Materials:       “Bridge Over Trouble Water”

                        Piano

 

Prior Knowledge and Experience: Students already know the beginning of the piece, and understand the basic idea of how the song is presented and how it is to be performed.

 

Procedure:     -Run through the beginning of the piece for review.

                        -Begin rehearsing at M. 73; sing to the end of piece

-Rehearse individual parts focusing on words (notes are relatively the same)

-Put together different parts (Tenor& Sop)

-Have everyone sing their parts together at a slower tempo

-Put everything together with correct tempo

 

Indicators of Success: Students rehearse music well, collectively pick up on rhythms, notes and word pronunciation.  Students sing relatively well on pitch.
