They heard the command and assembled. "Assemble under our new master!" reiji stood in front of the fleet of pink-dressed girls. "Let's go my faithful servants," reiji said then led his fleet away, laughing. (Episode title)

the sky was already orange and just below tokyo tower was the aegis bus. Inside, the girls were waiting for shun to be conscious. Shun made a slight movement and became conscious. Kaoru was happy that shun finally woke up but her happy reaction changed when he called for ruriko. Reiko told shun that kaoru carried him with gate robo to the bus. Shun remembered ruriko and megumi were in reiji's custody. "I have to go, i must." Shun said, not knowing what to do next. Shun saw gate robo, its engine removed. Shun turned to them and said he would go even without gate robo. Kaoru extended her arms, blocking shun's way, while fei told him that invaders were everywhere. Shun said he would ask the help of aegis. Megane just got an information from a secret agent that aegis base was taken over by invaders. Shun was shocked but was willing to go. But kaoru would not let shun and would even use her force to stop him. Shun yelled at kaoru to move away but kaoru would not. Kaoru even threw shun to bancho just to stop him. Kaoru pleaded shun not to go because there was no way he could do two things at once: defeat reiji and save ruriko. With shirei on custody, shun was their only hope. Kaoru reminded shun he was their captain. Shun just realized he was not acting like a captain. Megane alarmed his comrades that invaders found them.

just outside were invader cannon balls that were coming to them. Megane started the bus and raced for their lives. Fei eliminated some of the balls with fire panda. Reiko played the piano and calmed the rest of the cannon balls. They needed a place to hideout (and a place to repair the robot) because they could not just forever ran away. Shun had a perfect hideout in mind. It seemed that shun did not want to come to that place.

in new york headquarters, jim was having a confrontation with the head commander. Jim asked the head why the three of them were not sent to help the far east branch. The head commander even withdrew their army. Jim asked the head if he was going to desert far east branch. The head commander replied that they had no choice. For world peace, the head commander could not think of another way but sacrifice japan. Jim disapproved the decision of the head commander. The head commander reaffirmed that it had been decided.

whk media crew entered the office of the new prime minister. Prime minister reiji asked the media crew how long it would take them to prepare. They replied that it would take them until tomorrow evening. Reiji demanded that it was too late so he decided that it should be tomorrow morning. The helpless media crew agreed. Reiji posed his usual evil grin.

it was already dark. The place shun had in mind was his father's garage. Inside the garage, megane was starting to repair gate robo. Megane could repair some parts of the robot temporarily but he could not do anything with the ruined gate engine. Bancho insisted there has got to be a way. Megane could not do anything about it. Shun frowned. Kaoru noticed it so she thought of something to say. Kaoru remarked that there were lots of tools in the garage. Reiko added it must be shun's father's workshop. Shun said it was not work but hobby, then he jumped down the robot. Shun picked up his broken toy plane and remembered his liar father. Bancho lost his balance and fell down from the robot. Bancho held to a car cover, that was just adjacent to gate robo. Megane looked down and asked bancho if he was fine. To megane's surprise, the car that was now uncovered bore gex-0000 — the original gate engine. Shun was shocked himself that his dad had it. Megane confirmed it was a genuine gate engine. "Mr. Robot will be alive!" said the ever cheerful reiko. Megane said the engine was alive so they would be fine. "We'll be all right, senpai!" exclaimed kaoru to shun . Shun opened the garage's door and ran away.

while running, shun kept asking himself why the gate engine was in his father's car. Shun arrived home. Shun caught his breath before he could speak. Kazuko was not surprised to see his son and even invited him for supper. Shun asked his mother about his father. Shun looked at the portrait of his father and said that all he knew was that he caused trouble and left them. Shun continued that the engine (his father may be the engine's inventor) was more important for his graduation. Kazuko led shun to the drawer, telling him that he misunderstood his father. She took out a broken watch. It recorded the time 9:40, the time the clock stopped working and also the time his father died. Kazuko explained that hiromi (shun's father) was on his way to the graduation. "But he was testing the engine," shun insisted. "The engine has already been completed!" kazuko said. Kazuko narrated what really happened.

hiromi found a sponsor for his engine, on the back seat is an aegis folder (!). Hiromi peeked at his watch and realized that he would be late for shun's graduation. Having the urge to hurry for his son's graduation, rings of light started to form around his eyes.

hiromi could not take the gate that he just opened so his car crashed, not to mention that the car's hood was removed (that's why megane saw the engine immediately).

young ruriko was in the middle. "Because she is not a sniveler like you!" shun's voice was echoing. Young ruriko was sniveling then. "I'm not a sniveler. I tried harder!" young ruriko narrated. young ruriko sneezed. "shun will be surprised," continued young ruriko and then sneezed again. "At how gorgeous i've become. But¥but¥" a scene of an unfamiliar girl (maybe miyu? the girl who shun claimed he liked because she's not a sniveler) was in front of a class. "No, it'll be all right. You could do it someday. People will realize¥" ruriko continued without sneezing. then another scene of miyu, now shaking hands with ruriko (i think ruriko equaled with miyu in class).

young ruriko heard megumi's voice saying, "no one recognizes you." Scenes of miyu, vase incident (where fellow classmates blamed her), a running ruriko who fell to her knees, and a scene where everyone was looking down to her. "Hate those who didn't appreciate you!" megumi instilled it to ruriko.
