========================== |~Episode 24 ~~ "The Final Episode: For Tomorrow's Smile..." ========================== ::scenes of Japan:: Narrator: Japan, 1969, a period of high economic growth... This is the story of the Gatekeepers that protect humans from evil aliens. ::more scenes of Japan:: |Opening Sequence| [Matsuda's truck speeds along a street. Just as it goes off screen, two giant black iron balls roll into view, crushing things.] Bancho: They're catching up to us! [He grabs and shakes Megane] Let's use Ukiya's Gate of Whirlwind! Megane: [grabs Bancho and shakes him as well] No! We can't use Shun' gate power now! Fei: He's right! [the trio upfront look upwards, where Fei is] The Captain and the Gate Robot are our last hope! Reiko: Let's take care of this now. [gasps] Fei: [thinks to herself] Mou, I don't want any loved ones to disappear again! Reiko: [thinks to herself] Now I'll be a good witch who helps everybody! Fei: [runs over the covered Gate Robot to the back of the truck and into fighting position] Open the Gate! [gate appears] Reiko: [also gets into position near the front] Gate, open! [gate appears] Maiden's Prayer! [begins playing a haunting melody on her keyboard-flute thingy and calls up an illusion of a cliff where the invaders roll over the edge into the abyss] Fei: Fire Dragon!! [releases a spray of fire that literally dissolves the invader wrecking balls] Reiko! Reiko: Sure! [she ducks as Fei dissolves an invader ball in front of the truck] [the truck zooms into the camera and away while some cool background music plays] |----------------------------------------------------------------| | Ep Title: "The Final Episode: For Tomorrow's Smile..." | |----------------------------------------------------------------| Kageyama: [still broadcasting] As you lose sunlight, you'll finally realize that you ARE just specks of underground bugs!! Girl1: [whispers in his ear] Prime Minister Kageyama, our enemy was reported to be heading here. [he acknowledges] Kageyama: [to the cameramen] Let's continue this outside. Broadcaster: [the cameramen are startled] Huh? Kageyama: We may be able to broadcast something interesting. [looks calm and confident] [meanwhile, the truck is still on the run from giant invader iron balls] Bancho: [as they approach an oncoming ball] A ball!! [Fei and Reiko are tired, but nevertheless, continue fighting] Fei: Fire Panda! [gate appears] Reiko: [tiredly] Dazzling Melody... [begins playing the haunting melody] Shun: Fei, Reiko, stay back! Let me handle the rest! Kaoru: You can't! You mustn't fight no matter what until we get to Mr. Kageyama! Otherwise I'll be sorry about Ruriko! Shun: Kaoru-chan... [An invader ball decides to take that moment to spray them with smaller iron balls. Shun and Kaoru duck to safety] [There's a scream] Reiko: [turns to look] Fei-chan! [Fei's no where to be seen. Reiko begins to cry.] Fei-chan... Fei-chan's gone... [looks up] How dare you... How dare you kill Fei!!! [she wails and the intensity of emotion she feels causes her gate powers to multiply in strength and explode over the invaders] [The ultimate illusion: All the invader balls are on a golf green and become golf balls. They all begin rolling towards the 18th hole until they crash into each other and shatter to dust] Reiko: [kneeling and crying, her face buried in her hands] Fei-chan... Fei: Did you call me? [Reiko looks up in surprise. Fei is sprawled on the bottom part of the Gate Robot, unharmed, with Shun and Kaoru looking on.] Reiko, you're incredible when you're snapped. Reiko: [smiling happily while her hands cutely cup her face] Fei-chan... [she sits up, still smiling] What does 'snapped' mean? [There's the sound of a "call" whistle, the type you use to call attention. Kageyama, cool as ever with the wind blowing from the side, appears on screen, finishing the whistle. His flying invader creatures immediately dispatch along with a giant creature, the Cyclops, while Kageyama drops his hand and smiles. ] [Cyclops is heading straight for truck] Bancho: [eyes bulging out in fright] It's the Cyclops again! The Cyclops has returned! He's alive! Kaoru: Let me do it! [runs fast to meet the monster and throws off her jacket] Reiko: [jacket catches around her as she looks after Kaoru] Please be careful! Kaoru: Gate, open! [blue gates appears and she runs through it, gaining speed.] Kaoru Kick!! [She lands an awesome kick under the giant Cyclops' chin while the truck zooms under them. The Cyclops falls backward, just as the truck gets far enough not to be hit] [Kaoru is thrown off the Cyclops and slides to the stop on the ground] Shun: Kaoru-chan! [Shun offers an outstretched hand as the truck gets farther from her lying form] [Kaoru sits up] Shun: Kaoru-chan, hurry! Kaoru: [She stands and winces from an injury. Putting on a brave face, she shouts back at him,] Don't worry about me! Please go! Shun: [calls to the driver] Matsuda, stop the car! Kaoru: [Angrily] Don't you want to save Ruriko? Please be honest with your feelings! You were so desperate and you wanted to defeat Kageyama- sama! It's all because you wanted to save Ruriko! You're an Earth DeFeise member but you can't protect your loved ones... That's totally disingenuous!! Shun: [stunned] Kaoru-chan... Kaoru: [swipes her eyes with her arm, then gives Shun an encouraging smile. She points at him or gives him the thumbs-up sign] You can do it Shun! [As truck disappears over the horizon, a figure, yelling all the while, is running back towards her] Bancho: Princess Kaoru! Kaoru: [standing right in front of the Cyclops' eye] Bancho! [The eye opens suddenly and the Cyclops lifts himself enough to open his huge mouth and attempt to eat Kaoru. She screams as the jaws come down with impending doom.] [The truck is approaching the Diet Building, where several large thorny vines are blocking the street. The truck screeches to a stop and the vines reconstruct themselves into a huge, black wall] [The boys in front are stuck to the windshield from the sudden stop] Fei: What are we going to do now? [close up of Fei and Reiko holding hands and looking up at the wall in awe] This is way larger than the Great Wall... [A jet comes into the picture, shooting blue energy. A hole is made in the wall. More shots are made and the whole wall disintegrates completely. The jet passes by, and more robots land nearby] [A robot with the #03 on it, straightens. The picture shatters to reveal Misao.] Misao: 22 degrees to the right, 2 ET-11s from underground in 4 seconds! Jim: Okay! Let me handle them. [Fires up his robot. Giant spikes drill up from the ground, but Jim blasts holes through them and they disintegrate. He stops and smiles back at the team.] Shun: Jim?! [looking pleasantly startled] Jun and Misao too! Jun: You'd better thank your commander for this. [Plane flies overhead, on cue. The commander and Ochiai are in the cockpit] Commander: Captain Ukiya, we'll take over against this enemy. Go take Shadow! Shun: Roger, AEGIS! [There's something on the radar screen.] Ochiai: Commander, this is... Commander: Hold on tightly, Miss Ochiai. Ochiai: I'm used to this now. [Commander turns to her, startled.] This is the second time for me. [She smiles calmly.] [Commander smiles also. The planes flies off into the distance.] [The truck brakes screech and the truck does a 180-degree turn before it stops, it's back, along with the Gate Robot, facing the capital building, where Kageyama is.] Shun: Open the... [things shoot out of the Gate Robot's exhaust pipes] Gate! [Kageyama comes down the stairs slowly, hands in pockets. As he does, a small smile grows on his face. He stops at the bottom of the stairs and stands there, patiently waiting for the approaching Gate Robot.] [The Gate Robot crashes the entrance, then stands fully. For a few moments, he and Kageyama face off, both striking a cool pose. The wind is still blowing from the side, incidentally, making Kageyama look even cooler. ^o^] [Meanwhile, Bancho is in the Cyclops' jaws, struggling to keep it from snapping shut] Kaoru: Bancho? [She runs and tries to help him keep the jaws open, but the jaws, nevertheless, snaps shut on Bancho. Kaoru falls back from the force of it.] [The Cyclops stands, groaning victoriously] Kaoru: Darn it! [The gate opens] Kaoru Punch! [She begins pounding the Cyclops' chest relentlessly] Spit him out! Return him! You idiot! [She gears up for a big blow] Give our friend back to us! [A familiar sound of a gate power stops her mid-way. Startled, she backs away as she looks up at the Cyclops, where Bancho is.] Bancho's Voice: Gate, open!! [A bright light, then the gate appears above the Cyclops, and his jaws are forced open. Bancho is there, holding the jaws open using his slippers as protections from the sharpness of the teeth, while his eyes are spiraling with a copper-brown color.] Bancho: Give me power! [He jumps out of the Cyclops' mouth, then begins a gate power move] Hyper Inside Circular Throw!! [He grabs the Cyclops by the mouth and actually throws the huge thing into the distance, where it lands and creates the HUGEST cloud of dust.] [Trumpet music plays, and as the specks of debris fall, like snowflakes, Bancho turns and gives Kaoru the best action look he can muster. ^^ He does actually look cool here, with his hat turned to the side a bit. Then he ruins it by turning the rest of the way and giving a big, toothy - though minus one tooth- smile.] [Kaoru is stunned for only a moment, then runs happily to him and embraces him from behind.] Kaoru: Bancho! [They stand like that, together, Kaoru hugging him in relief and Bancho "slipper-less" - sorry, I just had to mention the slipper-less part, heh.] [Kageyama and Shun are still facing off, a giant robot facing a relatively smaller man] Kageyama: Posing as the Earth Defense Army? Shun: [on speakerphone] That's not true! Kageyama: [sighs testily, then,] Or a prince saving a princess from a bad sorcerer? But your princess will never leave the darkness in her life. Neither will all of you, you specks of bugs! [air shots of the city, with huge drills sticking out here and there] Thanks to you, Ukiya, an especially crazy, hot blooded bug, I shall apply the law to deprive the right to sunlight right now! [Black forms begin to rise into the sky. Shun gasps as he looks up. The sky is covered with black, moving invader-planes] [The remaining gatekeepers look up at the sky in wonder and fear. Shun's mom and little sister go outside, see the blackened sky, then hug each other in worry.] [The shot goes back to Kageyama, who's got his hands *still* in his pockets - that breeze is still blowing, btw ;>. Another nice, yet arrogant pose by him.] Kageyama: Open the Gate!! [Immediately, the black gate opens under him, and his black robot rises] Shun: Kageyama!! [begins to rush at him in anger] [Ruriko is still in her green bubble, being brainwashed by Megumi.] Megumi: You must hate those who didn't recognize how good you really were and merely looked down on you. [Megumi looks a little tired from all the brainwashing she's done] Now, hate those people!! [Ruriko's green sphere quickly clouds over with violent bubbles. The transformation is complete.] [Megumi looks on, then smiles.] [Ruriko's eyes slowly open, to reveal that they are spiraling with blackness.] Kageyama: Shadow Edge!! [Shun blocks, but is still hit pretty hard.] Broadcaster: [His voice sounds distorted, like he's on TV] Can you see what's going on? A rebel against our wonderful new Prime Minister Kageyama! A rebel broke into the Diet Building! However, our new Prime Minister Kageyama is using his overwhelming dark power to eliminate the evil white robot! [While he reports/narrates, various scenes of people watching the duel on TV are shown] Kageyama: Let me tell you! The invaders you've been fighting, where did they come from?! [He throws a blow to the side of the Gate Robots head at that same instant. There's damage.] They're not from outer space! [his eyes narrow] They were created by a negative Gatekeeper a long time ago. Para creatures that multiply by eating humans' desires. They are the invaders!! [throws another blow with his robots sharp claws, this time to the Gate Robots left chest. More damage caused.] Enjoying high economic growth, you dirty bugs are spreading your desires! [Shun evades his next attack.] I'll tell you what! You people invited the multiplying invaders all by yourselves! [scenes of Japan] Kageyama: 10, 20, 30 years from now, limitless human desires will increase the invaders even more. You're longing for a future without wars. [sets up for an attack] Unfortunately, there was no such thing from the beginning! [bashes the Gate Robot on the head, making a dent.] Shun: [gears for a an uppercut] Is that all you want to say?! [He misses completely. Kageyama ducked way before Shun could even touch him.] Kageyama: [laughs] Are you sacrificing yourself to finish me off? I guess it was your last resort but it's too bad. [He raises his hand from under his "duck" position to attack Shun.] Shadow Edge! [Black gooey stuff shoots onto the Gate Robot. It lifts the Gate Robot into the air, like liquid-black arms. There, another black arm slices one of the Gate Robots arms off.] [The other gatekeepers gasp in horror.] Megane: Shun! [The severed arm lands on the ground, while the other black appendages are slowly pulling the Gate Robot apart.] Kageyama: [laughs] I can see it... This country's future will be pitch dark! [a scene of a barren landscape, with dead fish scattered around and ruined buildings.] This country's tomorrow will be filled with despair! [He lifts his left hand slowly, symbolically.] You guys are all dirty bugs wriggling in the dark! What's wrong with toying with you? What's wrong with killing you?[ He clenches his hand closed, as if to symbolize squashing the "bugs".] You bugs trampled my feelings when I was still young. [His eyes have a hard edge to it.] I'll crush all of you to death! [The Gate Robot is still being squeezed by the black appendages all the while.] [The cameras are still shooting the battle.] Broadcaster: New Prime Minister Kageyama is now... [stops, unable to keep reporting in that manner] Darn! [Begins to shout in favor of Shun.] Please don't give up! For this country's, no, our people's tomorrow! [Saemi is closely watching the TV screen] Fight for us, white robot! Defeat the evil prime minister with your own hands! [She gasps.] [More black appendages shoot up into the air to pierce the Gate Robot from every side. Shun is crying out in pain. One appendage begins drilling the heart of the Gate Robot, the Gate Engine, out.] Shun: Dad's engine! [Shot of Kageyama smiling evilly.] [Shun look sup and hits a big red "R" button. The head of the Gate Robot explodes off.] Kageyama: [fiddling with some controls] Give it up now! [Some panels open up on his black robot, and his thrusters turn on. He attacks Shun once more, and a metal casing comes completely off the Gate Robot. Shun is exposed in his cockpit, breathing hard.] Saemi: Onii-chan?! [Turns away from the TV] No, he can't be my brother. Right? That can't be Onii-chan! Shun's Mom: Saemi, have you forgotten what your only brother looks like? [She looks at Saemi with a small smile.] [Saemi pauses, realizing that it is indeed her brother, and she turns back to the TV screen.] Saemi: Onii-chan, don't give up!! [Kageyama laughs as the black robot steps on the former head of the Gate Robot, crushing it underfoot. The *shadow* of the black robot raises its arms, then it actually slashes the Gate Robot. The Gate Robot keels over, and the Gate Engine falls out completely. Shun struggles to sit straight. Kageyama grunts in approval.] Shun: Kuso! Not yet! [he kicks a panel out from under his cockpit and he slides out and goes to the fallen Gate Engine.] Is that it, Dad? Will the Gate Engine you put your life into end up like this? [He starts banging on the Gate Engine in frustration.] Start! [The Gate Robot miraculously comes to life, and the engine begins working as the energy it outputs increases beyond normal. It's possibly instigated by Shun's emotions.] I beg you! Help me now! [The engine's RPMs instantly goes to its maximum and the engine whines from the pressure of it. Shun looks at the engine, realizing it's working again, and he smiles slightly. Then he stands and faces Kageyama, a "you're-in-for-it-now!" look on his face.] Kageyama: [smiles in coldly at the sight, then calls out his "back-up" plan] Megumi! [A black, spiraling hole appears, and Megumi and Ruriko rise from it. Ruriko's head is bowed and her eyes are closed.] Shun: [happily] Rurippe! Megumi: (Sa,) Now, hate those who didn't see how good you were and despised you... [Ruriko's brown eyes open and they are still spiraling with blackness.] Shun: Rurippe?! Kageyama: [chuckles] Every human being has hatred within the depths of their heart. Shun: No... [Ruriko is dazedly staring straight ahead of her, looking mighty cold, and like she hadn't gotten week's worth of sleep, ^^;] Kageyama: Look at this, the opposite phase of the Gate of Life awakened by internal hatred... This is the power of the Gate of Genocide! Shun: No, don't do it, Rurippe! Ruriko: [rears up indignantly. Her voice is strangely "quieter".] No... I'm not Rurippe the sniveler... No one knows how good I really am. That's why... that's why... Shun: No way, Rurippe?! Ruriko: [raises a trembling hand] Gate, Open! [A gate appears and it's... black.] [The other gatekeepers are stunned. Bancho, carrying Kaoru on his back, arrive just in time to see it.] Kaoru: Ruriko?! Jim: What's this? Misao: Oh, no... Jun: What's the matter, Misao? Misao: You must not open that... Ruriko: [looking very cool, in cold kind of way] Whoever calls me a sniveler will vanish... So will you, since you insulted me by calling me a sniveler... Shun: Rurippe... [A black bow appears in Ruriko's hands] Ruriko: No... I'm not a sniveler... I am... Shun: [clenches his hand and bursts out] Bakayarou! I wouldn't have given my treasure to you if I really hated you! [flashback] [Shun's working on a wooden dinosaur toy, which he loves. Right before he and his family move away, he gives it to young Ruriko. She holds it to her chest as she watches Shun's moving man drive away.] [end flashback] Shun: No matter what other people say, you're Rurippe! The Rurippe who I played with as a kid and my favorite person since then. You're Rurippe the sniveler! [Ruriko releases her black arrow at that, and it slices through the air, its deadly intent already set for Shun. Shun looks almost heartbroken as he watches the arrow race towards him. Ruriko is also watching, looking like she can't believe she did it either. Her eyes are still deadened, but they seem somewhat sad, regretful even. Just before the black arrow hits home, it disappears into a small black hole, and they both disintegrate into a bright, yellow light.] Shun: [dazed for a moment, then realizes,] The Light of Life?! Ruriko: Shun... [Her deadened eyes regain their sparkle, and Ruriko falls to the ground in a dead faint.] Shun: Rurippe! Rurippe! [he rushes to her side] Rurippe! Kageyama: What's going on, Megumi?! Megumi: I lost... her only hatred... It's wedge was taken out... Kageyama: What are you mumbling about?! Megumi: Because the person she hated revealed his true feelings for her. Kageyama: Explain this clearly! Why do you think I've been working with such a weird woman like you? Megumi: [is stunned for a moment, then glares at him. She looks down with a pout.] This is so mortifying... In the very end... So mortifying... [She sheds tears.] I lost to her again... Kageyama: Megumi?! Shun: Kageyama! [Kageyama looks back.] Shun: Reiji Kageyama!! Playing with people's hearts... I will never forgive you!! [He walks towards Kageyama, and a brown sword appears in his hand. The tip burns with power. Shun's intent is fully focused on Kageyama. With all the power he can muster, he calls out his power.] Gaaaaate!! Oooooopeeeeeeen!!! [The green gate appears and the battle music begins. :) Shun walks through the gate purposefully, his arms outstretched slightly to his sides. This is a very cool shot of Shun, I might add, heh. He walks forward a little more, then takes his sword and readies himself for the biggest thrust he can do with it.] Shun: Whirlwind Thrust!! [Green power emanates from Shun as he jumps up, up, at the black robot. Kageyama extends the black robots hand to stop Shun from coming any closer. For a moment, Shun is in midair with his sword, his face screwed up from the incredible exertion he's making. Finally, the sword begins to penetrate the Black Robots hand. Shun's power is *that* strong by then.] Kageyama: [while he's being practically blinded by Shun's power] No way! How can he possibly have this much power?! Shun: Kageyama! [His eyes have a deadly intent. The Gate Engine explodes from all the power Shun is drawing from it. Shun's sword completely penetrates the black robot's arm. Now the Gate Robot's dashboard explodes. Shun's now got a clear shot at the Black Robot's chest, and he pierces the heard of it, right where Kageyama's heard would be.] Kageyama: [in a strained voice] Ukiya! Shun: [angrily] Kageyama! [And then the whole black robot falls apart. Kageyama's cockpit is open, and Shun grabs hold of him while the rest of the black robot is pulled away, somewhere.] Shun: [looks earnestly into Kageyama's face] Why? You true self isn't supposed to be like this! [Buries his face in Kageyama's chest. Cries with despair.] Kageyama!! Kageyama... [Kageyama finally loses that tough, evil guy expression. His face softens into what looks like a wistful look.] [Meanwhile, the Black Robot is still being torn apart and sucked away. Kageyama manages to kick Shun away. Why? Er... :) A black hole appears in the sky and sucks the Gate Robot, along with [probably, not sure here] Kageyama into itself. It doesn't stop there, however. It's also sucking all the invaders away too. Shun isn't sucked into the hole however, having been kicked away in time, heh. Kageyama's three girls watch the hole doing its thing. Megumi also has her eyes to the sky, while she hugs Ruriko and covers her from any stray debris, I guess. Bancho also has his arms protectively around the whole gatekeepers team - yes, including Matsuda too - to keep theem from getting sucked in too, perhaps.] [The invader-drills are sucked in, along with the invader-planes. A black hole is clearly visible in the Earth's atmosphere.] Saemi: Onii-chan! [Slides the door open and runs outside] Shun's Mom: Saemi?! [Saemi comes face to face with Yukino. They stare at each other for a few seconds, before Saemi begins to cry. She runs and embraces Yukino and continues to cry.] Saemi: Yukino... Onii-chan is... Onii-chan is... Yukino: [softly, as usual] He'll be fine... So please, don't cry, Saemi. [At last, the black hole sucks everything away. The white dome that it sits atop of vanishes in a puff of white "smoke" and everything is "all right".] [Shun staggers to Ruriko, but falls to his knees before he can reach her. She stirs and looks at him.] Ruriko: Ukiya-kun... Shun: Rurippe, I finally found you... Ruriko: Shun?! [She runs and catches him in her arms as he falls, face forward.] Gatekeeper Gang: Shun! Shun! [They run to him too.] Bancho: Ukiya! Kaoru: Captain? Fei: Shun?! Kaoru: Captain?! Megane: Shun! Shun: [Face clenched in considerable pain. He struggles to get his words out, and even then, they're only a whisper.] Sorry, Ruri-pe, for not finding you much earlier... Ruriko: [Her tears are falling freely onto him] Ukiya-kun! Ukiya-kun! [Her eyes spiral with gold as her powers gather.] Ukiya-kun! [Magic sparkle effects begin to dance around Shun's body. They appear to be from Ruriko's tears, metamorphasized.] I love you so much... So... Please... [She lifts her head and screams for the heavens to hear.] Please don't die!! [A flock of white doves begin flying over their heads.] Yukino: 'Spring is in the air. The bright future can be seen over the mountains...' Reiko: Why is he not awake yet? Fei: The doctor said he's fine now. Kaoru: Ruriko, give him your usual slap to wake him up. Ruriko: No, I can't do such a thing... Megane: Then, let's use this automatic wake up machine that I invented! Bancho: To me, it just looks like a big alarm clock. Reiko: Usually in fairytales, a princess kisses a prince in a case like this. Kaoru: I thought it was the other way around. Fei: Let's do that Ruriko! A woman must be brave! Bancho: Wow! I envy Ukiya! Megane: Me too! Fei: Why are you red, Kaoru? Kaoru: You- you must do it! Ruriko: What?! I, I can't do such a thing... [She walks away from the group. When she finally looks to see where she's going, she's startled to find Shun about to run into her. He's just as surprised too. They can't stop from the momentum, even if they wanted to, so their lips draw closer... and closer... and closer... till they're almost about to touch, and... |ENDING SEQUENCE!| MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! |
