Ayane Isuzu
Born: July 29, 1984
Bloodtype: A
Height: 146 cm
Grade: 2nd Year High School
Section: B
An intelligent student at Tategami High School, she is in the
third highest position in class standing. Ayane is often talked
by classmates as a geek not only because she is good in handling
computers and cellphones, but also because of her introverted
attitude. She has a strong resemblance to Saemi Ukiya but she
has the attitude reminescent to Megumi Kurogane's. She's not a
fun person but she is cool when it comes to the battlefield. At
battle with Invaders, she reveals her cellphones from her coat
and use them for releasing pre-programmed imitation gate. As she
is also good at computers, her laptop is useful in battle too,
for she executes a strategic attack from some programmed cellphones.
As
the daughter of legendary Shun Ukiya (mother is still unrevealed
even at the OVA's final episode), she possesses the Gate of Gales.
However she can also wield other types of gates aka "imitation
gates" using cellphones.
She's bitter on almost anything as if she does not care about
her surroundings that's why she has few to no friends at all.
What she hates most is to do anything that has to do with her
father, such as using UP-15 or even using her gate of gales. Her
past is bit-by-bit revealed in episodes but is still unclear even after
watching episode 6. Why does she hate her father that much, who's
her mother with the maiden name Isuzu, why is she bitter towards
the world, and what's that bell she has got to do with anything
are just some questions that I'm bothered with.
Ayane's bell that I've been talking
about is always attached to her laptop, which she possesses since
childhood.

Miyu Manadzuru/Miu Manaduru (du/dzu is the same in japanese, though you pronounce it as dzu)
Born: September 25, 1984
Bloodtype: O
Height: 160 cm
Grade: 2nd Year High School
Section: A
A typical highschool at Tategami High; she is the type who wants
to become a soccer team manager, hang out with friends, and date.
As normal as she looks, she hides an extraordinary power as she
possess a green gate that can make her leap very high. Ayane has
discovered her power when Miu leaped to the sky as an escape from
her boyfriend.
After being recruited by Ayane, Miu starts to hang out with
her which makes her friends wonder what made her hang out with
a weird person. Miu when at Ayane's presence ask is she can do
anything, but Ayane would either ignore her or just tell her how
worthless she is. Miu, upon asked by Ayane what she is fighting
for, answers that she wants to make everyone happy and is just
curious. Ayane hates her kindness and says that everyone is probably
addressed towards herself only. Her close friends, Chinami and
Nao, even says that she does not get mad at all. |

Yukino Houjo
Born: July 14, 1169
Height: 124 cm
GateKeeper of Ice and Snow The ageless gatekeeper who appears
in Tategami and is mistaken by students as a ghost. She still
shares meaningful poetry but this time to Ayane and Miu. Why she
is ageless is explained in episode 5. GateKeepers usually have
bad backgrounds because their gates absorb their happiness. Reiji
Kageyama even mentions that gates that are used many times can
destroy a gatekeeper. In Yukino's case, she was summoning her
gate at large amounts especially in times of emergency so her
time was absorbed because of overuse.

Nazo (translation: enigma)(mysterious man)
Real Name: Reiji Kageyama
Born: April 26, 1952
Height: 178 cm
GateKeeper of Jet-Black, Dual GateKeeper (Black Minus Gate, Piercing
Gate) (another translation: GateKeeper of Darkness and GateKeeper
of Discernment)
A mysterious man who is often
seen driving a slick blue car. He gives commands to Ayane Isuzu
on attacking Invaders. He pays Ayane fairly in exchange for Invader
crystals that she collected. [It's weird that the crystals do
not disintegrate when Ayane collects them...] Apparently, he is
an AEGIS Network authority, possibly similar to Shirei who was
the commander of AEGIS Fareast branch.
He still possesses his black gate and is very strong in wielding
it. He can destroy battalion of Invaders easily within one blow,
but with a drawback: he becomes weak after releasing huge power.
His body parts, like arms and internal organs are made by science
because after his destruction in the past his body was destroyed
but was recovered. In episode 5, his left arm becomes cut off
by Yuurei Shoujo (Ghost Girl) but it does not bother him because
he says that it's only borrowed.
He can forsee or perceive the future, because he has the Discernment
[ability to judge] gate ability.
How he survived being absorbed in the Black Hole in the GateKeepers
series last episode? - refer
to GateKeepers 1985 section. |

Satoka Tachikawa
GateKeeper of Fragments / GateKeeper of Tearing
She appears in episode 3 wherein she saves Miu and friends from
Invaders. Her Fragment Gate enables her to summon a huge sword/s
that are so sharp it/they can eliminate groups of Invaders in
one slash. Her sword looks like Cloud Strife's (Final Fantasy
VII) sword but she weilds it just like Sanosuke Sagara (Rurouni
Kenshin) weilds his zanbattou. She has some skill with her huge
swords but she cannot summon them when her hands are separated
from each other because her broad sword is to be carried by both
hands.
Interesting notes: (from Chou Nuriko)
The big one (the one that she used in episode 3) was called the
"Dragon Slayer" while the small one (the one she used to cut the
mosquito in episode 4) was called the "Flying Swallow"--revealed
in Official Website
She is a GateKeeper member since 1999. She treats Ayane Isuzu
as a rival and is very greedy when collecting Invader crystals.

Daichi Hashimoto
Birthday: February 5, 1966
Blood type: A
Kanagawa prefecture graduate
Height 175cm
Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department posts
An investigator of Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who
investigates Invader whereabouts. He is unsuccessful because he
cannot provide evidence because an Invader corpse disintegrates
instantly after death.
He has snapshots of Ayane, Miu, and Satoka in action while opening
their gates. In episode 5 he talks with Miu privately while forcing
from her the answers he wants in which he fails. In the end because
of his frustration he becomes an Invader. |

Invaders
After their disappearance in 1970, they reappeared 31 years later.
They still have the shades, hats, red and black coats, and bazooka;
and they still retain their ability to fuse with each other and
form into a larger tactical machine or object. Invaders spread like
wildfire, they're infectious. A human with a darkside can be easily
transformed into an Invader. Their remnance are crystals which retain
human souls, unlike before (in GK TV series) they disintegrate after
seconds of contact. |
|
Ghost Girl (Yuurei Shoujo)
Normal Gate: Gate of Disappearance
Negative Gate: Gate of Regeneration
A dark GateKeeper in Spirit form. She has a strong liking to
Ayane Isuzu whom she thinks is the same as her -- bitter towards
the world. |

general who controls machine is back but only in few scenes. |
|
Count Devil (Akuma Hakushaku) The count
