Greg's original Trifoiler model was made, circa 1982, as part of his senior project at Cal Poly Pomona in California. The model was 6' long and 6' wide, weighed about 9 lbs and had 2 channel RC. It proved to be fast and stable.
The older, wood-colored, boat was the first version. With the second, white-colored, version the sail was made much bigger and the foils much smaller. These changes were due to results of a Velocity Prediction Program or VPP that Greg wrote.
