Richard Pearse
Centenary of Flight
There were also a number of small free-standing displays within the hangar. These were done by Hamish Cameron, also one of the SCAHC people. The displays were very well thought out and executed and are a great credit to Hamish. This photo
shows a model from one of the displays. It had a diorama of the Pearse
Monoplane flying overhead at Kitty Hawk whilst the Wright Flyer was still on the ground.
This static model is based on the 1906 patent that Richard Pearse took out.
A very nice
model of hardwood, brass, and tissue. The lighting in the hangar, plus the
reflection of the curved perspex, made it hard to capture the model on
film. |
