Harry McKee Jr.
1919-1994

The funeral service for Harry McKee Jr., 75, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Massena Christian Church, with Rev. Sally A. Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the Victoria cemetery. The family will meet friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the Steen Funeral Home in Massena. Mr. McKee died Wednesday, March 29 while on his way home after doing chores at his farm.

The son of Harry McKee Sr. and Dimple Fletcher mcKee, he was born on the farm owned in Victoria Township Dec. 11, 1919. He attended country school and graduated from the Massena High School in 1937. His marriage to Kathleen McVay took place Sept. 20, 1942, in Grant City, Mo. He was a member of the Masena Christian Church (disciples of Christ), a past trustee in Victoria Township, a member of the Cass County Condemnation Borad and a lifetime member of the American Angus Association.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harry "Jim" McKee of Hampshire, Ill, and his wife, Midge; Dan McKee of Toney, Ala., and his wife, Sherry; his grandchildren, Samantha dailey of Sycamore, Ill., and her husband, Dean; Frank Matthew of Neptune, N.J.; Caroline McKee of Hampshire; Yolonda Lovet of Toney and her husband, Thomas; Christy Brown of Athens, Ala., and her husband, Charlie; and Colby McKee of Toney.

Also surviving are three sisters, Veronica Lary of Massena, Lola Antisdel of Bridgewater, Patricia Madsen of Monroe and her husband, Norm; a sister-in-law, Iada McKee of Massena; a brother-in-law, Kenneth McVay of Alabama and his wife, Von; his mother-in-law, Doris McVay of Anita; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jackie; his parents; and a brother, Rex.

Mrs. Pearle Spieker will be organist at the service and Bill Amdor and Michael Amdor will sing "Because He Lives." The congregation will sing "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer." Floral bearers will be Louise Arp, Barbara Wollenhaupt, Jack and Marcella Platt. Ivan Houser will be an usher. Pallbearers will be Jack McKee, Jon Madsen, Gary and Richard Antisdel, Dick Wiechman and John Lary.
