GIRLS
GRADES K-12

ADULT VOLUNTEERS

FORMER GIRL SCOUTS
& LEADERS

We have active troops for girls of all ages:

Dasies-Grade KG
Brownie 1 - Grade 1
Brownie 2 - Grade 2
Brownie 3 - Grade 3
Juniors - Grades 4 & 5
Cadets/Seniors - Grades 6+

Studio 2B is a new initiative for scouting teens, designed from interest surveys of the girls themselves. We don't have a group in Delhi yet, but if there is sufficient interest we can start one!

The most visible volunteers are our dedicated Troop Leaders, and we can usually use more, but they are not our only helpers. We also need adults to provide behind the scenes administrative assistance such as Council Treasurer, Secretary / Public Relations, Special Event Coordinators, and even volunteers to coordinate new uniform fittings (we have tailors) & order our insignia and badges on-line. Men can help too!

High turnover in our community means that we often lack experienced colunteers. Even if you aren't currently interested in being a regular volunteer, we would still value you as a resource person. We can learn from your experience. Would you be willing to participate in a training session or special event or demonstrate a skill at a regular troop meeting? We'd be happy to have you!

The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try
To serve God and my Country
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
Honest and Fair,
Friendly and Helpful,
Considerate and caring,
Responsible for what I say and do,
And to
Respect Myself and Others,
Respect Authority,
Use Resources Wisely,
Make the World a Better Place, and
Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout

MOTTO: Be Prepared

Girl Scouts. Where Girls Grow Strong.

Girl Scouts - What is it all about?

Girl Scouts are a value-rooted people centered movement. "Movement" means a "series of acts working towards some desired aim."

Our informal educational program centers around the interest and abilities of girls. It is a vehicle in which we kindle the girls' abilities and transport them along the journey towards becoming self-realized, courageous, compassionate, concerned and committed mature women.

These are some of the values espoused by Girl Scouts:

  • through troop management, girls learn to make decisions and to abide by the decisions of others(learning to follow as well as to lead).

  • the international aspects of our program help girls to appreciate the similarities and differences of the people around the world, and are indeed relevant to us as AES.

  • through health and safety, firls learn to respect and preserve human life.

  • through service and social action, girls have opportunities to stretch themselves and to invest themselves in the enterprise of mankind.
Irrespective of the age or the level of the activity, it holds true that our program is a device for this process of mankind. Every game they play, every song they sing and every day they camp, our girls are learning to live with others and with themselves; winning, losing, understanding, affirming their value in our world.

Our purpose is for girls to see, not just look, to listen not just hear, to feel and not just touch, a hope to inspire and not just inculcate.

We are an after school program but one with a purpose based on ideals and a code of conduct.

We hope that people (both scouts and leaders) throught their experience in Girl Scouting will be better able to carry the qualities of civilization with them beyond their days in Girl Scouting.
