FINAL SCORE: | ||||||||||
Dot On.............................6 Tantamount FC........... .2 |

Forced into the Mote Park league to keep up fitness and stave off boredom, it was like stepping into a different world. It’s essentially the same as LLC: same games, same rules, same ball. But 10:30pm kickoffs? Tiny goal areas? Ridiculously wide goals? The Mote Park league was a far cry from the familiarity of their usual league.
And it was a mere 30 seconds from kick-off before bizarrely-named Dot On bulged the net with a powerful strike from the right. After the initial shock the Mount began to settle, with Ollie and Alex constant menaces on the wings and Modders a tireless figure up front. Pilch got in some much needed blocks but the wideness of the Mote Park pitch was exploited twice as gaps appeared and Dot racked up a two goals from the wings. Spence kept the score down with some solid saves and made the best of the small area. |

After conceding a fourth just after half-time, Ryan got the first Tanta goal at Mote Park. Running from right to left, he hit a powerful shot on the run that beat the keeper at his right hand post. Dot On replied with a fifth, before Ryan got his and Tantamount's second. Advancing down the left wing, he took his time before chipping over the diving keeper.
Bondy hadn't played competitive 5-a-side for a good three years but, after some early nervy moments, began to look more comfortable and made some good tackles. Meanwhile Modders and Ollie both had opportunities, with the former making some clever runs, but Dot On added a sixth late on, and 6-2 was the outcome. Not a bad debut by all accounts as the Mount adjust to a different pitch and Spence adjusts to a different goal. |
