FINAL SCORE:
Dynamite.......................5
Tantamount FC........... 1
Report by Michael Pilcher
Ref Steve luckily didn't insist on the Mount kicking off this game straight away but, having been beaten by leaders Sunday Session immediately before, there were some tired bodies craving longer than a mere five minute break. Indeed a hungover Paul Foreman insisted on remaining on the bench, and so James Ward admirably started.

The team were stunned as Dynamite scored from the kick-off. The ball was played from the centre, passed back and their striker took a touch before unleashing a powerful shot that went in, via a deflection off Pilcher's arm. Charman attempted a shot from the resulting kick-off but his effort lacked power.

Ward did a great job down the left, drifting to the centre when needed to defend and up joining the attack. It looked as though the AFC Maidstone legend hadn't been away as he worked the pitch brilliantly for someone who hadn't played 5-a-side for five years. He came close with a couple of chances and Moody also had a decent chance. Indeed the Modders had a great first half, laying off two chances for Ward who shot over on both occasions. With the score just 1-0 at half-time, the Mount weren't out of it yet..
The second half saw defensive lapses and some persistant Dynamite attacking allowed them to extend their slender lead to three, despite the Mount looking reasonably comfortable.

Paul Foreman pulled a goal back from the kick-off after Dynamite's third. The ball came to Pilcher and he played a long ball from the centre out to the left. The ball came back off the wall and into Foreman's path and he stuck it right-footed past the keeper.

Unfortunately Dynamite added two more goals, the fifth following a poor roll-out from Spencer, and it could have been worse with one goal debatably being disallowed for being inside the area.

In the end 5-1 perhaps flattered Dynamite, but with Pilcher playing two full games back-to-back and Moody and Charman each getting just four minutes rest, the lack of numbers played its part in this poor result. It wasn't a bad display by any means, but it was also far from vintage.

Manager's Comments:
"We see Dynamite as one of the easier teams but they're 4th in the table and not too far off Hardley.

Paul was heavily hungover, and Sam wasn't particularly impressed with him. He (Paul) didn't get about much but he did make his presence felt and got his name on the scoresheet. To be honest I'd like to see him play on a weekend when he's sober, he tended to goal-hang a bit today. Ward played well again, linking up well with Modders and he could have grabbed a couple of goals. He hadn't played for 5 years so considering that I thought he played excellantly.

The scoreline flattered Dynamite, though the fact of the matter is they took their chances and we didn't create enough. Their first goal was a real shocker. It's been hit from half-way, come off my arm and somehow gone past Spence, who I thought had it covered. During the first half both teams had chances; in the second half, the tiredness started to creep in and we didn't close them down quick enough. With a full squad it would have been a much closer game. I can't complain though, this is the first week all season where we've had serious squad problems and it was a case of making the best of what we had. Considering that, I'm not disappointed with the result or the performance."
