FINAL SCORE:
Dynamite.....................4

Report by Michael Pilcher

Dynamite, who managed to fluke a 1-0 win in the last meeting between the sides, comfortably beat the Tantas on this occasion. The fact that the Mount had played immediately before hadn’t helped, and back-to-back games after a seven-week absence proved to be too much.

Last season’s fourth-placed team put themselves a goal to the good within a matter of minutes. Working the ball out to the right, they hit a shot across Spencer from a tight angle which nestled into the far corner. Not ones to mess with a winning formula –and perhaps realising, as other teams have done, that shots across Spence are his Achilles heal - they scored an identical goal minutes later, and added their third again from that right-hand side.

Attacking-wise the Mount hadn't test the keeper much, although Sam and Modders combined well and worked themselves into some good positions.
Pilcher and Ryan were introduced in the second half and Ryan twice came close. He hit one shot from the right-hand side which struck the outside of the post, while later he hit a fine effort which the Dynamite keeper met with a great save to tip onto the bar. Spencer made amends for his moments of madness in the first game with some great saves, a one-handed save from a well-hit shot the pick of the bunch.

As the half wore on the Mount were pulled all over the place, allowing Dynamite way too much time and space, and it was little surprise to see them add a fourth. The fact they couldn’t grab a consolation meant that the team have now gone seven games without a goal.

Manager's Comments:
“There were a lot of tired bodies as there always are after back-to-back games. We played well in spells but stood no chance after that poor, poor start. There’s no way you’re going to claw things back from being 3-0 down.

We can definitely beat Dynamite on our day, but that day was not today. It’s good to be back playing in the league though. The fitness will improve and the heavy touches will vanish once we’re playing regularly again.”
