FINAL SCORE:
Dynamite.....................4
Tantamount FC..........1
In the five previous meetings, the Dynamite have never really outplayed the Mount. Even in the Mount's first ever game when Dynamite won 3-0, they had seen some hope for the future. After each meeting the Mount walk away wondering, quite simply, "how?". They lost this tie 4-1, exactly the scoreline as in a meeting back in January, and again the Tantas were asking themselves the same question.

Much of the first half was goal-less. The Whites were more assured and left hurried in possession, but found Spence in fine form. Sam put in a great diving block to deny Dynamite as their striker bore down on goal with just the Spence to beat. They did take a 1-0 lead thanks to a fine finish after some decent build-up play. Jimbo could have restored parity but fired a shot just wide whilst Ryan test the opposition keeper with a left-footed shot.
Minutes into the second half and Ryan equalised to grab his fourth goal in eight games, this time Modders -  who again showed his best form out on the left flank - providing the pass after making a great run down the line. Dynamite threw themselves forward but were finding opportunities limited as the Mount held firm, the Spence commanding his area and making some all important stops. Ryan found himself playing in a two-man defence with Pilch, and they were seemingly close to that elusive point. Dynamite eventually managed to take the lead however, and how cruel it was. A free-kick from just inside the half was heading straight for the prepared Spence but a heavy deflection off Ollie's back left the already-committed Mount keeper with no chance.

The Mount committed men forward to try and find an equaliser but couldn't find a way through, with Noakes sidefooting a shot wide and Ryan foiled on several occasions. Dynamite extended their lead with two highly debatable late goals. Their 3rd came courtesy of some dubious play in the build-up, with question marks over whether Ryan had been legally bundled off the ball; the fourth was another Steve special, allowing a goal despite the Dynamite forward striking his shot from inside the area.

Dynamite are a good side, but were never worth four goals, and 4-1 doesn't give a fair reflection of a game in which the Mount had given Dynamite a serious test. The lads were understandably gutted as they trudged off and must have kept asking themselves: "how?"
