FINAL SCORE:
Hardley..........................4

Hardley were visibly upset after their 2-1 loss to the Mount just two weeks ago and revenge was high on their agenda. So it proved as a far more clinical and far more fired-up Hardley coasted to their biggest ever win over the Mount.

They were ahead within four minutes, a shot across Spence from the left finding it's way in between the keeper's legs. The Hardley keeper made two saves from Ryan as the Mount searched for an equalised, and Modders hit a rebound wide. Ollie hit a shot across goal and Sam also had a couple of efforts, but all to no avail. Hardley were seeing most of the ball and protected their slender lead until half-time.

They doubled their lead on 10 minutes and seemingly dashed any hopes of a Mount comeback. This time they were given too much time and space to plant a shot into the top corner for 2-0. Ollie pushed up front, supported by the two wingers of Dave and Ben, and they spent plenty of time up the Hardley end trying to forage an opening. Pilch and Ben looked comfortable at the back, forcing players wide and helping the ball back to Spence.
It all fell apart late on. Firstly Ollie was adjusted to have stepped in the area to stop a Hardley striker getting a shot and, from the resulting penalty, Spence didn't move; the shot was perfectly placed into the corner. Hardley then scored a late and undeserved fourth as the Spence was again nutmegged.

Hardley were worthy of their win, and the Mount took their foot off the gas after a great performance earlier in the day. The lads just didn't click in this game and it cost them dear - the old rivals got a comprehensive win that was, on the face of it, all too easy.
Modders - hit a rebound just wide
