FINAL SCORE:
Sunday Session...............6
Tantamount FC.................0
Report by Sam Charman

The Mount opted to switch to their sky blue away shirt for this encounter against a fellow yellow jersey wearing team, but this is where the similarities ended as once again Sessions offered a master class in the art of 5 aside football. From the off, shots from distance reigned in on Spencer’s goal as the superior power and pace of the Session’s players immediately shone through. Spencer was beaten six times in the first half, a combination of excellent finishing from the opponents and a seemingly innate ability to know where each other were on the pitch. The Mount defended as resolutely as they could, but were often chasing shadows, tiring against the organised passing game they came up against. The formation eventually began to wane, the Mount’s defence of Rose, Charman and B. Howarth,  pulled all over the park and unable to provide a sustained service to the isolated Moody. However B. Howarth put in some excellent tackles when needed and Spencer made some more superb saves to keep the score respectable.
The second half offered an improvement defensively, Pilcher coming in to help out at the back. Sessions failed to find the net in the whole second half, as chances were restricted by the Mount. Realistically however Sessions wasted several good chances and on another day it could have been more. Pushing forward more out of pride and with nothing to lose, there was some nice attacking moves and more pressure on the Sessions’ goal, a tight one- two between Charman and Moody a notable highlight and some strong individual play from Rose making it more of a contest. In the end however the Mount never looked like making it a contest, content to half the defeat from the first meeting and move on.
Spencer - made some superb saves

Manager's Comments:
"They are a great side but I'm glad we get it down to six. They all came in the first half too, so we've kept them goalless for half a game. Their shooting really is first class and I think three shots hit the post, but James did well and made some good saves.

Jimbo was caught in position for the first which came fairly early, which is a shame - if we could have kept them down for longer then we could have rattled them a bit. The heads went down for the first half but in the second we closed them down, hassled them and got a few shots on goal.

There had been talk of the score being in double figures again, but that hasn't happened, and we can take a bit of comfort from that."
