FINAL SCORE:
Wheatsheaf..................3
Tantamount FC........... .0
Wheatsheaf have handed some real thrashings to the Mount in previous meetings. Whilst 3-0 doesn't seem like a decent scoreline, it's certainly an vast improvement on the 6-0 and 7-2 results from the last two encounters.

In the last two games Wheatsheaf had built up early leads from playing the ball out to the right and hitting shots across Spencer. Pilcher was wary of this and warned Jimbo Rose of the tactic that had served their opponents well in the last two thrashings. This time Jimbo was prepared, marshalling the left hand side and restricting their opportunities.

Indeed during the early exchanges the Mount looked like making it a close game, with Dave B again looked assured in the centre and Modders making intelligent runs down the right. Ryan was linking up well with his team-mates but chances were few and far between. It was Wheatsheaf however who scored the ever-important first goal, gaining the lead with a thunderbolt from a central position four minutes in which left Spencer with no chance. 'The Cat' was however as busy as ever, alert enough to make some great stops as Wheatsheaf fired off a fair few piledrivers. They extended their lead a couple of minutes after the first, one player allowed the space to sidefoot home from just outside the area.
After half-time David Spencer came on for Ryan and held the ball up well, and went close on a couple of occassions. Pilcher was allowed space to hit one from inside his own half but his effort was always ambitious, whilst Dave B had a long-range effort blocked. Wheatsheaf's Jon showed how it was done, matching his earlier thunderbolt with a strong shot that went through Spencer's legs late in the game.

And so the opponents from Pilch's local ran out winners again. At least this time, they'll have walked off knowing they'd been in a game.
