Letter of Instructions No. 1005

The Minister of the Budget

The National Treasurer

The President, University of the Philippines


In the implementation of the Government’s initiative in the intensification of research to accelerate food production and develop viable alternative energy resources, there was established at the University of the Philippines the National Institutes of Biotechnology and Applied Microbiology (Institute).  To finance the organizational and other financial operating requirements of the Institute, the National Treasurer is hereby directed to release immediately to the President of the University of the Philippines, the sum of Ten Million Pesos (P 10,000,000.) out of the Energy Special Fund created under Section 8 (j) of R.A. 6173, as amended.  The foregoing amount shall be used exclusively for the purpose for which the Institute was created and may not be diverted for other projects or requirements of the University of the Philippines.

 

Beginning with the year 1981, and thereafter, the financial and other requirements of the Institute shall be included in the General Appropriations Act.

 

This Letter of Instructions shall be effective immediately.

 

Done in the City of Manila, Philippines, this 28th day of March 1980.
