The 1982 World’s Fair will be held in Knoxville, Tennessee from May through
October, with the theme of “Energy Turns the World.”
In order to promote the KKK program, Philippine culture and tourism and more importantly, the Philippines’ contribution to energy research and development, it is desirable that the Philippines participate in the said Fair.
The minimum total cost of participation is estimated at approximately P 8 million, including pavilion construction cost, exhibits and travel costs.
Accordingly, the Treasurer of the Philippines is hereby directed to release P 8 million out of the Special Fund created under Sec. 8 (j) of Republic Act No. 6173 to finance the Philippines’ participation in 1982 World’s Fair.

Done in the City of Manila, this 1st day of March in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-two.
