Job Descriptions
Cadet Group Commander, (CGp/CC), Authorized Grade: C/Col
Supervises the Deputy Commander, Special Teams Squadron Commander, Mission Support Squadron Commander, Flight Operations Squadron Commander, Chaplain, and Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Responsible For:
- Command and Control of the unit.
- The appearance, discipline, efficiency, training, and conduct of the unit.
- The accomplishment of the Leadership Training Program and mission as outlined by the ASI and AASI.
- Ensuring that all members of the cadet corps have the opportunity to develop leadership commensurate with their individual abilities.
- Administering cadet corps activities according to Air Force principles and procedures.
- Directing the cadet promotion system, publishing cadet policy and directing training as necessary to insure fair, equitable, and timely promotion consideration for each member of the cadet corps.
- Performing all other duties as assigned by the ASI/AASI.
Cadet Deputy Commander, (CGp/CCV), Auth. Grade: C/LtCol
Is a member of the Unit Staff.
Responsible For:
- Assuming command of the unit in the absence of the Corps Commander as directed by the ASI/AASI.
- Assisting the Cadet Corps Commander as requested by the Commander and directed by the ASI/AASI.
- Preparing and coordinating the unit staff meeting agenda.
- President of the Cadet Discipline Board. Reviews, takes actions, and files Cadet Counseling Reports (CCR).
- Establishing special committees and monitoring their progress.
- Keeping the Corps Commander informed of all Cadet activities.
- Assisting all staff officers on matters pertaining to their work.
- Conduct Unit Position Survey in December and May.
- Performing all other duties as assigned by the ASI/AASI.
Cadet Chaplain, (CGp/CH), Auth. Grade: C/Capt
Is a member of the Unit Staff.
Responsible For:
- Morale and welfare of members of the cadet corps and recommending solutions to problems concerning moral and welfare issues to the Unit Commander.
- Delivering inspirational service as required for Dining-Outs and other corps activities.
- Posting an inspirational/motivational phrase in the classroom each week.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Unit Commander or ASI/AASI.
Senior Enlisted Advisor, (CGp/CCP), Auth. Grade: C/CMSgt
Is a member of the Unit Staff.
Responsible For:
- Providing recommendations to the Unit Commander based on inputs from all cadets and acts as Liaison between the corps and Unit Staff.
- Conducts a Unit monthly enlisted meeting with the assistance of the Unit First Sergeants.
- Advising the Unit Commander on problems with the corps and suggesting possible solutions.
- Coordinates the Unit Tutoring Program with the assistance of the Unit First Sergeants.
- Keeping the Unit Commander informed on matters of drill, uniform wear, and conduct of cadets.
- Forming all parades and other Cadet Corps co-curricular activities related to drill and ceremonies.
- Arrangement of the staff meeting room before and after the unit staff meeting.
- Assists the Information Management Officer in taking minutes of the unit staff meeting proceedings.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Unit Commander or ASI/AASI.
Cadet Aide-to-the-ASI, (CGp/AD), Auth. Grade: C/Col
This is an important unit position, the honor and privilege is given to former unit commanders and as required by the ASI. They will assist the unit commander when so requested.
Responsible For:
- Advising and assisting the ASI and AASI on cadet activities, organizations, and personnel.
- Assisting any cadet who voices a concern regarding regulations, procedures, or other unit functions.
- Coordinating the utilization of the Unit Staff Advisors.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Unit Commander or ASI/AASI.
Cadet Staff Advisor, (CGp/SA), Auth. Grade: C/LtCol
A position of honor assigned by the ASI to cadet seniors who are no longer in command or staff positions. Encouraged to attend unit staff meetings as observers/advisors and assist the unit when requested by the Aid-to-the-ASI.
Responsible For:
- Advising and assisting the Group Commander and the Aid-to-the-ASI on cadet activities, organization, and personnel.
- Assisting any cadet who voiced a need or concern regarding regulations, procedures, or other unit functions.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Unit Commander or ASI/AASI.
