This will tell you how to put the ranks, ribbons, etc on your service dress uniform in preparation for uniform day.

    Rank

  • Officer - Epaulet insignia 5/8 of an inch space between the shoulder seam and the bottom of the rank and centered.
  • Enlisted - Rank should rest on (but not over) the seams on the lapels.

      Insignias & Badges

  • Lapel Insignia - Should rest on (but not over) the seams of the lapels.
  • Distinguished Cadet Badge - Centered 1/2 inch above name tag.
  • Kitty Hawk Air Society Badge or Awareness Presentation Team Badge - Centered on pocket.
  • Flight or Ground School Badge or - Centered 1/2 inch above ribbons or top of pocket, if no ribbons.
  • Model Rocketry Badge - Centered on pocket.
  • Academy of Model Aeronautics silver wings - Centered above button on left pocket.

      Name Tag & Ribbons

  • Name tag resting on top of (wearer's) right pocket and centered.
  • Ribbons resting on top of (wearer's) left pocket and centered.

      School(Unit) Patch and AFJROTC Patch

  • School(Unit) patch on right sleeve 1/2 to 1 inch below shoulder seam and centered.
  • AFJROTC patch on left sleeve 1/2 inch to 1 inch below shoulder seam and centered.

      Note

  • Officers and Airman Basic wear two eagles on lapel.
  • Eagle insignia worn on wearer's left, grade insignia on right.
  • ALWAYS wear a tie with this uniform!
